The first night of fitness training has been completed...
10 turned up to be put through their paces by coach, David Caldwell. All survived, but only just...
Some exemplary performances were put in with Eddie Baird's ingenuity when it came to press-ups memorable. Taking his immense weight (all 80lbs of it) with his head in ORDER to form a pyramid did not fool the others.
Mark McDonald tried hard but finally had to succumb... blaming a dodgy knee!
Stephen Swann's "real" dodgy knee managed to hold up to the pressure... though his 'breasts' were sagging at the end of the session.
Stuart Campbell took every opportunity to rest his weary legs and was put to shame by the duracell-like efforts of Uncle Tom Watson... he just didn't stop... didn't go quick mind you!
Alan Murphy put in a reasonable SHOW though was found wanting when it came to the sit-ups... oh dear...
Peter McStea and Andy Cooper pranced around Valley Park without breaking sweat... though they did seem constantly confused as to what was going on around them.
Leading by example were Alan Burgess and Neal Hermon. Despite their bulk, they managed to huff and puff their way through all the exercises.
The gentle session did take its toll, but the 10 that suffered will (hopefully) find the going easier on Wednesday night.
A better turn-out is demanded by the senior club officials, however...
