The Annual Dinner Dance is not a profit-making event. Obviously, the Club does not want to incur an unnecessary cost and any profit will be gratefully received. In general, however, the Club does not intend to make a great deal of money out of the event.
This year, however, the Club have made a small profit...
Despite having invited (non-paying) guests, the move to Barnaby's was a financially lucrative move. Total income from ticket sales and the ballot was £1,064.85 (with £40 still to come in from one person who failed to pay on the night). Total expenditure was £933.30 (which included the meal and the disco).
So... a profit of £131.55 on the night, with £40 to be added as and when the last of the ticket sales turns up.
