Uddingston and Larne played the first match of East Antrim's first tournament in 20 years at U.U.J. on Friday night.
Officiating for the first time in Northern Ireland, the Yorkshire duo of Roy and Barry (pictured) enjoyed the opportunity to blow their whistles on a mild and smokey Ulster evening.
The heavy drinking undertaken by the talented Scottish team during the day at the Crown did seem to have an effect, however, as it was Larne that controlled large parts of the first half. However, it was a superb piece of interchange around the Larne goal-mouth that led to a goal against the run of play.
Time for the unmistakable Willie Young to pop up with a trademark goal just before half time to even the scores.
The second half was an even affair with the two teams again enjoying a goal apiece - albeit it was Uddingston that had to come from behind to grab an equaliser. 2-2 was the final (and fair) result.
All-in-all... an enjoyable match to watch, and an even more enjoyable match to listen to (Larne accents, Glasgow accents and Yorkshire umpiring accents).
