As always he is in good spirits and ready for a bit of banter. He is still in Withers building of Musgrave. He is now waiting for an operation to put a steel plate in place to support his upper vertebrae, the hospital believe without this he will be in danger of further damage. He is getting pins and needles sensations in his hands and feet, which on one hand he finds uncomfortable because he can't stand up and shake it off on the other hand is a good sign for future restoration of full sensation again.
He does 2 sets of physio a day and was standing for 45 minutes the other day (assisted). He unfortunately doesn't know any time scale for the operation, after which he will have to wear an upper-body/neck support for some considerable time. He is awaiting another operation to do with his bladder but they won't do that until the other one is completed.
Movement-wise he is more confident with his left hand and is writing and can do most things like lifting drinks using telephone etc. He does occupational therapy to develop further progress here.
