Tri-athletic superstar, Ricky Allen, has been forced to put his stunning hockey career on hold for a while.
Ricky is set to compete in the European Championships shortly and cannot afford to risk any injuries. One of Ireland's brightest prospects in the sport of running, cycling and swimming broke the news to the team captains and expressed his own disappointment.
"I don't have a choice... my coach says I have to give up the hockey or risk undoing all the hard work I've put INTO my athletic career" Ricky said.
The officials (and no doubt the members) of East Antrim Hockey Club wish Ricky all the very best at the forthcoming championships, and hope to see Ricky clad in the Green & White in the not-too-distant future.
