2nd XI this weekend...
This Saturday we were scheduled to play Raphoe at home, however, because of an Ulster Branch rule, the game will not be played.
Because we didn’t travel up to Raphoe at the very start of the season, the rule is that our home game becomes their home game. Clearly, this is so that teams will have an incentive to travel to Donegal the first time, or else Raphoe wouldn’t have too many games. For obvious reasons, especially since the 1sts are playing concurrently, we would never be able to make it to Raphoe.
This is unfortunate since we didn’t have a match last week, but there is really nothing we can do. Next week we are away to South Antrim, a game that I see as must-win given our current position. We are capable of a result next week and anything less would not be a true reflection of our quality.
As far as I am concerned it is time to prove our ability in this league. Let’s try and get a good turn-out at training on Monday in preparation for Saturday’s game- we need a win and this is our chance to get one.
