The section is a proof of concept idea which, if successful, will be used for EAHC match predictions during the 2004-2005 season. To work as a proof of concept, however, we need "gamers" - and "gamers" who are prepared to put up with a rough and ready game.
The game is a standard prediction game - guess the score of the 24 first round Euro 2004 games. If you guess the home team's score correctly, you would get a point. You also get a point for guessing the away team's score. You will also get a point if you get the result right (regardless of the scores). And... if you get the precise scoreline, you get a bonus two points.
In effect... if you predict a 2-1 scoreline in the opening match (Portugal v Greece), and the result ends up being 3-1, your score would be calculated as such:
1 point for guessing Greece's score
1 point for guessing that Portugal would win
TOTAL : 2 points
If the real result was 2-1, your score would be calculated as such:
1 point for guessing Portugal's score
1 point for guessing Greece's score
1 point for guessing that Portugal would win
2 bonus points for getting the scoreline correct
