East Antrim Legend Passes Away...

We have been shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden death at the weekend of our good friend and former team mate Maurice Forsythe.

Maurice joined East Antrim in the early 1970s as a schoolboy from the Boys' Model. Having played for Ulster schools, he quickly established himself as a 1st XI regular as part of a dream midfield with Mark Long and Willie Irvine. He continued to play for us both outdoors and indoors until he left to live and work in England.

During this period he was Club Captain for 2 successive years between 1986 and 1988.

A talented player on the field, off the field he was the life and soul of any event in which he took part. We were reminded of this when he joined in our centenary celebrations last October.

At this difficult time our thoughts are with his wife, Barbara, his parents and the rest of the family circle.
