Regulars of the news boards will be aware that the sponsored cycle ride scheduled for August was abandoned due to a lack of support from Club members... probably as a result of cycle fatigue!
Well, in order to boost Club funds, the Committee have decided to replace the event with a sponsored walk - along the Causeway Coast.
The walk will take place on Sunday, 19th October 2003. Everyone should meet at Academy Sports Club at 9.30am with a view to arrive at Carrick-a-reed Rope Bridge at approximately 11:00am.
The walk will begin from this point with a brief stop for a packed lunch (your own) at Portbradden or Dunsevrick Castle at 1:00pm.
The walk will continue to the Causeway Hotel for refreshments in hotel bar (arriving approx. 4:00pm).
The total distance is only 16km (10 miles in old money).
Please support the event by attempting to get as much sponsorship as possible. The Club's ability to support a 2 hour training session on astroturf each week as well as running three teams will be put to the test this year!
