Nothing went in the Green Machines up and coming stars favour today at the Antrim 6 aside tournament. The weather was awful and the Under 18’s suffered a series of minor defeats, the defeats weren’t due to lack of determination, pace and skill as each player put 100% INTO all the games.
The East squad was made up of players with an average age of 16; the opposition was made up of much older, larger and stronger players. This did not deter East in the slightest as one of the highlights of the day was Dinger nut megging an RBAI player, but the greatest moment of the day was when Cookie gave away and saved a Penalty Flick just tipping it round the post. The day was full of high spirits and everyone enjoyed the occasion.
Even though we weren’t winning matches the crowd showed some appreciation for the effort put in, even after Cookie nearly decapitated a couple of people sitting int the back of the stand with a shot he pushed up INTO the stand.
cheers to eddie for writing this cause i didnt have time.
