Forgive me if I indulge my privilege of being able to create news on the website, but...
I have been fortunate in my East Antrim career (or sad, you choose) to have a note of all the games that I have ever played, including scorers.
Saturday's game marked my 200th appearance for the 1st team. Thankfully, I managed to mark the event with a goal (my 21st goal for the Club & 7th for the 1sts).
Unfortunately, the result went the same way as 124 of the preceding 199 games - a defeat. However, I have now played in enough games (and watched almost as many FROM the sidelines through injury) to categorically state that the current squad of 1st XI players is as good as it has been for almost a decade.
The trouble is, however, the results don't seem to suggest that! Battling performances don't coutn for a lot when the opposition score more goals than us. However, it is only a matter of time before the season is turned around... as long as the players don't become too disillusioned.
