Match Report

By George Tumilson

Well an interesting score line and one that was a bit generous in the oppositions favor. I’m not going to try and defend the undefendable but perhaps a 4-1 win would have been more appropriate as East seemed to give up late into the 2nd half.

Well the Campbellians had done all their talking on the pitch so no need to mention how they played. East did show many signs of hope for a bright future with a reinstated legend of times gone by, Rambo, scoring his first goal for the club since his return. As always East players were up for the game and did manage to pull a goal back from 2-0 down which was pleasing to see.

Although the score line doesn’t suggest it there were many players on the East side that did shine. In the midfield Kriss Leslie and Leon Currie were outstanding when given their chances to move the ball. Phil Brown, Mark Baillie and Rambo with their 100% effort, injected pace to the forward line.

But on the day it wasn’t a forward or a midfielder who caught the attention of the many fans at the side of the pitch but a right back who played for his club, his badge and his team mates. When all eleven East Antrim men can play with same passion and responsibility as Andrew Bell (Dinger), then and only then will the wins start to come.

Learn to do it right at training then do it right on a Saturday. Training is now finished until the 6th I think, so everyone enjoy Christmas an come back next year with the right attitudes an lets give the 2nd half of our season a real go.

Merry Christmas
