Match Report

By Mark McKenna

On a very cold Friday night, after a convincing win over Antrim we set out in expectation. We started poorly and never really looked like getting into the game with loose passes and running from everywere. A few sloppy errors from defenders no names mentioned....Dinger which led to two goals to garvey. You would have thought this may have kicked us into gear, but thanks to some excellent saves from George only his second ever attempt at nets, kept us in the game. At half time a slightly angry skipper let rip so to speak leaving nothing to the imagination.

Turning around 2-0 down we still were in with a chance then another garvey goal within the first couple of minutes seemed like it had killed us off. But with some execellent hockey and passing which was overdue we got two goals back that had the opposition rattled. We continued to play with the same conviction but came against a keeper in form and sometimes a lack off composure infornt of goal. Although this was a defeat the second half peformance will give us confidnece to go into the next match and set and example of how hockey is supposed to be played.

Special thanks to George for standing in for the absent cookie!!!!
