This was the result that everyone in the 2nds new was just around the corner.East have battered teams all season but have never been able to convert a good a ratio of their chances,on Saturday that changed.

The game started quite slowly with players on both teams giving the ball away all too easily.However once East settled there was only ever one team going to win this match.The first goal came from an Antrim defender giving the ball away in his own half and after a clinical pass from Currie to Menaul who proceeded to turn his man and unleash a thunderbolt pass the keeper.
East dominated the rest of 1st half and at times there passing and movement was a joy to watch.

One nil at half time and Easts players had a chat about closing the game out and for the first time this season WE DID!!!!!!!!!!!!

East started the second half the same way they finished the first,they had plenty of pocession but unlike other weeks the strikeforce of Currie Menaul and Nicholl were causing problems for the Antrim defence.

After great work from Menaul and Nicholl down the right East were rewared with a short corner which Hermon scored with a great strike for 2-0.

The next ten minutes were played at quite a poor standard,East went back to poor the standard of previous weeks of running with the ball,trying to beat 10000 men and then failing to mark back.
Easts got lucky however when one of Antrims strikers lost the ball which led to East breaking at great pace which led to Nicholl making it 3-0 with a strike at the back post.

Number four followed quickly after when Blair Passed to Menaul who from the top of the circle wrecked the ball into the bottom corner,Number five was created with a piece of genius by Menaul who won the ball just inside his own half spotted Nicholl running in behind the Antrim defence,and then proceeded to lob the ball 40 yards over the defence straight to Nicholl who slippedit to Blair for 5-0.

The result was very enjoyable after the previous weeks were we have played good hockey and came away with nothing.
