Match Report

By David Menaul

East travelled to omagh knowing that it would be a very hard game which would require determination, patience and lot of skillful hockey if we were to come away with three points.East were by far the better team in the first half,we played with all the above and got our rewards with a 3-0 lead at half time.Leon 'simply the best'Currie playing in his now favoured role of left wing opened the scoring with a well taken goal at the back post after good work from Alan Murphy and Alan Burgess. The second however was very fortunate,After great work to win the ball back east went on the attack(for the 100th time)Birdy picked up the ball and managed to get some space where he managed to get away a shot from a tight angle and all the Omagh goal keeper could do was kick it into the net.The third was a great piece of skill by Jonathan Porter,he turned quickly on the edge of the circle and hit a good early shot into the bottom corner. However the second half was the reverse,East surrendered their good play and allowed Omagh back into the match. The determination and passion was there but we lost our skillful play and and our patience.A great victory though lads.Keep it up against Wolf Hounds. Also a big thank you to Angela, Gail and Gemma for braving the cold to support us.
