Despite being on the wrong end of a 6 - 1 scoreline the 3rd XI played really well showing their usual determination and no little skill. At the end of the game we were congratulated by the Instonians team who were very impressed with our effort.

Trailing 1 - 0 at half time we quickly conceded a second straight from the push back. This unsettled the team and we lost our shape which had stood us in such good stead in the first half.Another 4 goals rattled in but special mention should be made of our goalie, Daryl Hutton, who played really well and pulled off several spectacular saves.

Gareth Moffett was a tower of strength and it was fitting he should score our goal which was nothing less than we deserved.

Thanks to Soupy for making the cross town dash to play for us after the 2nd XI game. It was much appreciated. Hopefully next week we can play the team selected which will give us the benefit of more experienced players and maybe the opposition team will contain as many young players as ours does. This would give us a fighting chance of a win!
